AS we welcome the new year, let us once again confirm our faith even in the smallest of ways.
This was the message by Father Arthur Leger during the New Year’s Day mass at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva yesterday.
He said the celebration of the new year may be new but the tradition and devotion was not. He said other challenges faced in life may be difficult but people must continue to pray for protection.
“We need to pray for our families and pray for those people who need peace,” he said.
Meanwhile, in his new year’s message, head of the Catholic Church in Fiji Archbishop Peter Loy Chong said our new year’s best wishes and hopes expressed a vision for economic wellbeing.
“Therefore, ‘prosperous new year’ expresses our hope for a better management of our economic life. A prosperous economic life should be guided by principles and values,” he said.
