FIREFIGHTERS and staff of Energy Fiji Limited attended to a near-death accident in Saweni, Lautoka in the last hour.

A black Honda fit-shuttle crashed onto an electrical post in the midst of Christmas Eve as people rushed to and from the Sugar City while doing their last-minute Christmas shopping.

Human rights lawyer Sabrina Khan-Sharma was one of the first people to the scene and managed to apply her cabin crew knowledge on one of the accident victims who she claimed was visibly shaken after the accident.

She then took the victims straight away to the Lautoka Hospital for medical treatment because she suffered a minor head injury.

Ms Khan-Sharma said firefighters also did a marvellous job in attending to the accident on time.
