THE fashion world came together to raise money for an orphanage last Saturday night through the Bayleys Style Fiji 2019 fashion event.

About $20,000 was raised during the fashion show which showcased clothing lines from renowned designers that included Hupfeld Hoeder, Samson Lee, Aisea Konrote and Zuber Fiji.

One of the co-ordinators of the event, Marlene Blake, said the show was a complete success.

“We sold all 400 tickets,” she said.

“They came out and enjoyed a night out in Venice which was overall a wonderful way to participate in a good cause and celebrate some of our great fashion designers.

“We also managed to successfully auction off all of our holiday packages which were generously offered to us and to the people that bid for them.”

She said the generous gifts would go towards paying for supplies for Loloma Home in Nadi.

“They needed assistance in transporting two containers of supplies from overseas so we decided to help them raise those funds.” She added the organisers were looking forward to next year’s event.

“We’re already planning for it because we are now approaching our 10th year.”
