THE Tailevu Provincial Council has invested $37,176 to cover tuition fees for 30 tertiary students in the last year.

This was revealed by the council’s head of education committee Dr Akanisi Kedrayate during the provincial council meeting at Ucunivanua Village, Verata, today.

“We need to invest in education because this is one of the best ways we can uplift our province,” Dr Kedrayate said.

She said it was important the province invests in programs that were in demand in Fiji.

“Instead of getting people from overseas, this is a way to invest in our children so they can take up these posts.”

The meeting ends today.
