THE Samoan 7s team survived a first half scare to beat Papua New Guinea 33-7 in its first match at the Oceania 7s.
Both teams were locked 7-all at the break.
Samoa scored four unanswered tries in the second spell for a comfortable victory in the end.
Samoan coach Sir Gordon Tietjens said his team is expected to get better as the team progresses.
