THE cream of iTaukei music will participate in the first-ever Live Mai Rooftop concert in Suva.
Hosted by Viti FM, the event has been billed as the biggest thing in Fijian music in a while.
This was highlighted by William Parkinson, the executive chairman for Communications Fiji Ltd, during the launch of the concert on Friday.
The concert will be held on November 23 at the CFL building rooftop in Waimanu Rd, Suva.
“I am so excited and so proud of what the Viti FM team has achieved this year,” he said.
“This is the culmination of it all so it’s going to be called ‘Live Mai’.
“It will also air live on the radio stations so it will be broadcast across the country and across the world.”
The major sponsor for the event is Digicel.
Digicel commercial acquisition manager Serafina Wedlock said the event clicked with Digicel because it was a “trendsetter”.
“This concept, when it came to the company, we didn’t hesitate to agree because you know with the growing of the digital platform there are a lot of ideas and concepts,” she said.
“So thank you so much Viti FM for the opportunity.”
Among the artists performing at the event are Voqa ni Delai Dokidoki, Laisa Vulakoro, Sassy and Cagi ni Delai Yatova.
