FIJI’S Minister for Defense, National Security and Foreign Affairs Inia Seruiratu continued his tour of the five policing divisions this past week.
He met Acting Divisional Police Commander South Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Filipe Jitoko and his senior command group where he emphasised the need on improving customer service.
“When you fail to respond to a complaint, that is Government, don’t take it lightly,” Mr Seruiratu said.
“Quality customer service can easily be delivered through simple things such attending to reports in a timely manner, providing feedbacks, because the moment you give excuses of no vehicles, it tarnishes your image as a good service provider and also Government’s because people know about the resources that have already been given to you.”
As the Southern Division is home to majority of Fiji’s economic activities, the minister urged the senior officers to keep in mind the need to be up to par with the rapid pace of developments.
