AMERICAN resident Chandra Shanmugam’s holiday in Labasa has turned into a vacation of helping special members of society.

Accompanied by her family members, the mother of a special child, who is aged 16, donated groceries, three wheelchairs, packs of diapers and toiletries for the residents at Golden Age Home.

“During my visit, I was given a list of things that the residents needed so we decided to help out and I am glad because I grew up in Labasa before migrating to USA,” she said.

“My son has autism and he is special. So I believe I should always help out when the need arises.”

The home’s care coordinator Sirino Rakabi described the gifts as a big help to the residents.

“We are grateful and thank the family for their kind heart.”
