EIGHT Fiji Golf Club lady members graced the Lautoka Golf Club course on Sunday to be part of the Viti Bures, Metal Works and KK’s Hardware-sponsored 18 holes stroke Pro-Am Championship.
Apart from taking part in the main event, the women appreciated the warm welcome and acceptance by club members with the group considering to return for the all-important Lautoka Open Golf Championship in October.
Consistent Marica Margetts from Pacific Harbour was crowned the overall gross champion on 84, with the ever popular Pat Punja nabbing the overall nett title on 70.
Pauline Morris nett 72 for the first nett spot ahead of Seini Lewai on 73 and Ann Allock a shot further back on 74.
Despite the dry course conditions, the women competitors were rewarded with prizes as a token of appreciation for completing the stroke event.
Notable names included Susan Yee, Loata Maria, Soni Matthews, Sai Yee and Ann Allock.
Punja claimed the nearest to the pin (NTP) award on the second hole with Sonia Singh on the ninth hole.
Pauline Morris hit the longest drive on the third hole. Club executive, Raymond Singh thanked Fiji Golf Club Lady members for taking part in the Pro-Am Championship.
