A NEW school block for Ba Muslim Primary School was commissioned today by Minister for Education Rosy Akbar.
The previous building was destroyed in 2016 by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
While opening the new set of classrooms, Ms Akbar said the new facility was stronger than its predecessor.
She said the school and its management had done well to recover from the Category 5 storm.
“As we travel through the same places that were completely destroyed by TC Winston, all we can say is we are happy to have come out of that traumatic time,” Ms Akbar said.
“I’m not saying that we have fully recovered but we are on our way to the life that we once had before the cyclone devastated us.
“I want to thank everyone that was involved in helping every school, each student and their families recover over the last three years.”
