SHOOTER Glenn Kable is ready to defend his title as the Pacific’s number one shooter.

Kable, an Olympics and international shooter for many years who has won multiple Pacific Games gold medals will begin his campaign today at the Taifagata Shooting Range in Samoa.

In an interview yesterday with this newspaper Kable, who won gold in the individual double barrel in 2015, said he would be participating in three events.

“So there are three events, double barrel – we get two shots on each target, the second event is the single barrel and you get one shot on each target and the third event you get shots on each target and its graded, three and two,” Kable said.

He said he was looking to winning gold again.

“Absolutely and I’m feeling good about it too. Preparations have been exceptional, it has been non-stop shooting for pretty much every weekend and I’m getting some pretty good results,” Kable said.

As far as the preparation for the games is concerned, Kable said breaking target was important.

“But I’ve also been building up to this event so focusing on these types of events for the last three months and it’s looking good.”

Going into his fifth Pacific Games, Kable said he was always humbled representing Fiji and was always something he held dear to his heart.

He said the shooting venue for this year’s games had developed much better from when he competed in 2007.
