ORGANISERS of the Digicel Ba Farmers Carnival have received major backing from mobile network giants Digicel Fiji.
The carnival committee confirmed a two-year sponsorship during the carnival’s official launch at the weekend.
Committee president Narendra Singh said they were looking forward to working with Digicel Fiji over the next few weeks before the official opening of the carnival on July 6.
“We have a major sponsor on board that has been a great supporter of festivals and carnivals held in Ba,” he said.
“Having Digicel Fiji as our major sponsor will only bring more people and the relevant stakeholders that we need to put together a successful carnival.
“The committee has been able to put together an event that the people of Ba can enjoy and be proud of.”
Meanwhile, six contestants have been chosen to compete for the 2019 Digicel Ba Farmers Carnival crown.
Mr Singh said the focus of this year’s event would be on helping sugarcane farmers.
