FIJI’S Minister for Youth and Sports Praveen Kumar thanked the International Weightlifting Federation for having faith in Fiji for hosting the Junior Weightlifting Championships.
“We are delighted to host this world event and Olympic qualifier and it exemplifies our Government’s commitment together with our key stakeholders that Fiji, like any sporting nation, can host major sporting events,” Kumar said.
“It is always a pleasure to have sportsmen and women from around the world on our shores to participate in international tournaments such as the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships.”
The competition will be held for one week at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
