Weather watch: Active trough of low pressure moves Northeast

AN active trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the Northeast of the country.

The Fiji Meteorological Service (FMS) said with a Southeast wind flow prevailing over the group, associated cloud and rain was also expected to affect the eastern parts of the Fiji Group from later today.

A heavy rain alert also remains in place for Lau and Lomaiviti Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, eastern and interior parts of Viti Levu.

Rainfall can also be experienced over parts of the country in the afternoon or evening.
