TALK less and do more’ has been the motto driving the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort’s Human Resources team in its bid to raise funds and assist the education needs of poor Sigatoka kids.

Director Ashneel Chand said this simple theme has motivated his team raise funds and host events for non governmental organisation Fiji Kids Learning for Life for the past seven years.

“In 2011, as part of our corporate social responsibility program, we raised $2000 for Fiji Kids and after seeing the outstanding work they were doing, our then general manager Peter Hopgood encouraged us to take on Fiji Kids as an annual thing,” said Mr Chand.

“The reason we support Fiji Kids is simple, they are not just supporting the poorest of children financially by buying their education needs – they are also giving them hope for a better life when there was none. “They are giving these kids the chance to achieve and live their dreams by believing in them and we are so humbled to be a part of that.”

Mr Chand also acknowledged the members of his HR team for sacrificing days off and giving up their time to participate in Fiji Kids events.

“They have families too but they give of their time and I want to acknowledge them for that.

“And I also want to thank Outrigger for not only supporting the work we do but also encouraging us to take ownership of it.”
