Pacific Nations Cup: Flying Fijians pips Manu Samoa

Listen to this article:

FIJI Airways Flying Fijians coach John McKee will get his men to plan a different game pattern against Georgia  after the Europe side beat Tonga 16-15 in the 2018 World Rugby pacific Nations Cup in Suva this afternoon.

McKee said Fiji had to match Georgia in the forwards after Akapusi Qera led the national side to its 24-22 win against Manu Samoa.

Samoa came back strongly in the second half with three tries to almost steal the win from the hosts.

Fiji scored the bonus win through tries from fullback Kini Murimurivalu, flyhalf Ben Volavola, halfback Henry Seniloli, and wing Vereniki Goneva.

McKee will also work on improving discipline after Skipper Qera, centre Jale Vatubua and debutant Eroni Mawi were sin-binned.

Fiji plays Georgia at 3.30pm next Saturday in Suva.
