ROSEMARIE Rova set a new record in the female under-15 400 metres freestyle at the 2018 Fiji National Schools Swimming Championship at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre in Suva earlier today.

The Swami Vivekananda College Year 11 student finished the race in the 4 minutes and 51 seconds while the previous record was held by Tiarana Mitchell of Jai Narayan College with a time of five minutes and 23 seconds in 2014.

“I am preparing for the Oceania Swimming Championship in Papua New Guinea,” she said.

“The competition allowed me to see where I stand in swimming.”

The competition ends tomorrow.
