STUDENTS and teachers of John Wesley College took a day away from classes today to commemorate the founder of the Methodist Church, for whom the school is named.
John Wesley or Aldersgate Day it is commonly known, is celebrated by Methodist Christians on May 24 or the nearest Sunday.
School Chaplin Reverend Moce Biudole said the day marked a significance for both students and teachers at the school.
“Today, we have organized a special two hour program. This event is very important for Methodists in the country and to the world. The life of John Wesley also teaches us many things,” Rev Biudole said.
This year’s theme was ‘John Wesley and Education’.
