Update: 2:45PM A 5.1 MAGNITUDE earthquake was recorded in the Fiji Islands region early this morning.
The Seismology Unit of the Mineral Resources department reported the earthquake occurred at a depth of 548km.
It was located 100km South-southeast from Tubou Village, Lakeba; 359km Northwest from Nuku’alofa, Tonga; and 357km East-southeast from Suva.
This seismic event posed no immediate threat to the region.
