ORGANISED and operated by the fashion designers of Fiji, this years Fiji Fashion Week aims to take the work of local artists and give it directly to consumers. Speaking at the launch of FJFW 2018 at the official residence of the French Ambassador earlier this week, managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight said that this was the main difference of this years event.

Now in its 11th year, Ms Whippy-Knight has shared the operations of the event with the Fashion Designers Alliance of Fiji.

Chaired by Adi Koila Ganilau-Lee of the Haus of Koila, the FDAF is the professional grouping of local designers of fashion wear and accessories.

“We have found a new collaboration the Fashion Designers Alliance of Fiji,” Ms Whippy said.

“If everything goes according to plan, the event will soon be owned by the alliance.”

Tickets for the two days event are now available from Shopaholic and the ROC Café in Suva.
