TIMOTHY and Priya Ellis have been courting for the past five years after meeting in a church in Australia.
However, after all these years of friendship and bonding, they decided it was time to take the next step and get married.
But they wanted to have a simple, memorable one at a beautiful, friendly and affordable place and this was the reason they chose Fiji.
Timothy, 33, is a web developer and wife Priya, an early childhood educator, 30, is from Suva.
The Bure Ni Loloma Chapel at Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort was a hive of activity as both Priya and Tim’s family gathered to witness the couple’s big day, a day they have been waiting for to seal their friendship and love of five years.
The bride got her dress from Australia and her hair and make-up was done by her mum and sister-in-law.
She wore the beautiful wedding dress she bought from Australia while Tim got himself a Roger David stone shirt for his outfit he had also bought from Australia.
The couple chose to keep the wedding a small occasion so there was no bridesmaid or groomsmen but just the excited couple showing their love for each other in front of their loved ones.
Despite celebrations and family members meeting together, the main idea behind having a wedding was to mark the beginning of a new journey for the couple.
For Tim, marriage is a lifelong commitment of love while Priya said marriage was all about the love she had towards her husband and his family.
Priya said when she first met Tim, she felt frustrated and it took him so long to ask her out so she finally decided to take the bold courage to ask him out.
The sweet and shy Priya, as described by Tim, then asked him to take her to a movie and from then on, things just fell into place.
Priya believed it was time for them to settle down and five years of knowing her husband was enough for her to ask him to move to the next step.
Tim said he had been with her for many years and he could not imagine life without her.
The bride also loved the fact that her husband was so loving, caring and very affectionate towards her family while Tim loves her sweet smile, silly jokes and caring personality.
