JAPANESE camera maker Nikon has marked the firm’s centennial celebrations with the release of the D850 digital single-lense reflex (DSLR) camera that will soon be available in local markets.

At a press conference organised with local distributors Motibhai Group of Companies, Nikon Australia managing director James Murray said the new camera could be the perfect choice for both professional photographers or hobbyists.

“Last month we announced the release of D850 and with it you get high speed which is the first time a camera has been able to do that,” he said.

“It’s an exciting time for us and D850 is perfect for us to start the new century and Fiji is been a very important partner for us.”

The D850 offers impressive capabilities with a powerful synthesis of high resolution and high speed from the EXPEED 5 image-processing engine and CMOS sensor.

It features silent photography in both photo and vide video modes, and a wider view field, giving modern storytellers more versatility.

The camera delivers both speed and resolution.

It is equipped with a powerful 45.7-megapixel CMOS sensor that guarantees an unmatched balance of high-speed and exceptional resolution when combined with up to 9-fps1 continuous shooting mode backed by its EXPEED 5 image-processing engine.

Motibhai Group of Companies wholesale executive for electronics and consumer goods Sujan Patel said the continued partnership between the two companies ensured they provided complete solutions for people’s camera needs.

“We have been with Nikon since 1976 and we are able to give a very good access to all our customers in Fiji,” he said.

“We provide product packages which are also available in other countries and combos with lenses and body kits.”
