Solid foundation for youth

Update: 1:35PMTHE Government’s educational policies work towards providing a solid foundation for the youths of Fiji, says assistant Minister for Youth Iliesa Delana.

While responding to President Jioji Konrote’s speech at the opening of this session of Parliament, the Member of Parliament said the Government was aware that the majority of unemployed people registered were youth.

He said Government figures showed that 9000 young people did not make it from year 8-13 of the school system.

While thanking the President for highlighting the Fiji First government’s educational policies, Mr Delana said the policies “confirms our capability to reach into our future despite our divided past, gives our youth assurance that we will help them”.

The assistant minister said he was proud to mention the Ministry of Youth and Sports would work towards creating a steady awareness of the 2013 Constitution among youth.

“It mandates equality amongst all citizens – does not just express ideals but it turns those ideals into policies, laws and most importantly, practices,” Mr Delana said.
