QAQA Naitasiri’s unbeaten run will be tested when it faces reigning champions BLK Nadroga Stallions in the Skipper Cup feature match on Saturday.The clash of the two giants will be exciting in their quest to secure their positions in the semi-fi nals.
A win for Naitasiri will cement its spot for the top four after leading the overall points table with three consecutive wins.
Nadroga players, on the other hand, will put their bodies on the line for a win after recording their fi rst loss against Jack’s Nadi earlierin the competition.
Former national 7s rep and Nadroga number 8 Ulaiasi Lawavou said the battle would be brutal.
He said both teams needed a win. “It is going to be a huge battle against Naitasiri,” said Lawavou.
“Naitasiri is still undefeated and it will be hard to beat them on their home soil.
“We respect them and we will give them a good game.”
The Stallions are expected to feature renowned players such as Apete Daveta, Ifereimi Tovilevu, Sevuloi Tawake, Sailosi Dawai, Aisea Natoga, Ratunaisa Navuma, Tuvere Veremalua, Jiuta Lutumailagi and upcoming star Josese Kurokava.
Naitasiri on the other hand has experienced players such as Joeli Veitayaki, Seremaia Naureure, Filimoni Seru and Kini Douglas to name a few.
The game will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park at 3pm.
Meanwhile, in other Skipper Cup games, Nadi faces Malolo at Prince Charles Park, Rewa to face winless Namosi and Suva to host Navosa.
