THE Suva Grammar School under-18 rugby team will come roaring when they participate in the Fiji Secondary Schools Coke Zero Deans competition after receiving their new rugby uniforms from BLK this week.
BLK director commercial and marketing Liga Gukisuva said this year they brought their partnership and level of sponsorship to the domestic and grassroots levels to another level.
“For us to get to the top we need to look after our roots because we can’t expect to bear fruits if our roots are not well nurtured,” Gukisuva said.
“For us at BLK we believe that if you want to continue to groom gold medallists in 7s or world-class champions in rugby league and union then we must look after our young players on programs organised by Fiji Rugby Union and also secondary schools competition.
“We provide top teams in the country with their sports attire and also their rugby uniforms they will wear on the ground.
“We want to get it right from the beginning and make sure when the team goes out to play they go and play as a team,” Gukisuva said.
He stated that one of the biggest challenges was putting the team together and organise and dress a team to participate in any tournament.
“You can become a champion if you all go in as a champion in a united front in terms of what uniform you’re wearing as a team.
Captain Inoke Burua thanked the sponsors for helping them and promised in return they would rise up and conquer in the Dean’s competition.
“We thank our sponsors for believing in us and supporting us again this year and we hope we will rise up again at the end of the 2017 Dean’s schools rugby competition,” Burua said.
