DOCUMENTS filed by Mel B have revealed new claims about the nature of her marriage to Stephen Belafonte.
The former Spice Girl filed for divorce from Belafonte last week just a few months shy of their 10-year anniversary.
The couple have been at the centre of a number of scandals recently — their Hollywood mansion was raided by police on Tuesday in search of illegal guns.
They did not find any guns in the house.
Belafonte’s brother Jeremiah Stansbury also recently claimed the movie producer had brought guns to their house, punched Mel B’s dog so hard it collapsed and seduced a number of women.
On Monday TMZ obtained court documents in which Brown alleges she was in an extremely violent marriage with her husband.
The singer filed a restraining order against Belafonte, forcing him to stay away from her and her three children and ordering him to leave the home.
Brown claims the abuse has gone on since 2007, however, Belafonte has denied the claims.
In one situation, Brown alleges in November, 2007, as she was leaving to attend the Dancing With The Stars finale, Belafonte started choking her and slammed her down onto the hardwood floors.
She alleges that in July 2012 as she was filming the Australian X Factor in Sydney with Usher, Belafonte became extremely jealous and punched her in the mouth and busted her lip.
“Respondent flew into a rage claiming I had been flirting with Usher all day. Respondent was clearly jealous without reason. Respondent punched me with a closed fist in the face causing my lip to split and swell.”
The singer also alleges in 2014 after she was “overcome with emotional and physical exhaustion” and took an entire bottle of Aspirin.
When she tried calling the emergency services, Brown alleges he blocked her and locked her in the bedroom “telling me to ‘die b*@#h’”.
