WHAT a fantastic start for our South Pacific boys Under-16 team winning their first AFL match against North Queensland 51-36 for the 2018 QLD State Under-18 Championships in Australia.
Coach Simon Highfield was happy with their performance.
“From the very first bounce, our boys tackled hard, pressured the ball carrier and utilised their speed to transition the ball from defence to attack finishing with quality shots on goal,” Highfield said.
He added overall, they were so proud of the boys’ effort, courage, and pressure throughout the whole match.
He said game 1 had now finished and recovery had begun in preparation for their next game against Brisbane North at Burpengary Sports Complex tomorrow.
