RACHEL Bati is excited to finally ply her trade in Fiji.
The Japan women’s 7s rep was in top form for the side in her debut game in Fiji in the Mana Whey Coral Coast women’s pool games yesterday.
The 19-year-old forward said she wanted to give her best in all the games and was proud to be a Fijian.
“I last visited Fiji some eight years ago and I am excited to be back,” said Rachel.
“I am proud to have Fijian blood and I will do my best in all my games to make my parents and relatives happy.”
Bati’s dad, Apisai Bati, is originally from Moturiki in Lomaiviti and is married to a Japanese national. The family has been living in Japan for more than 20 years.
Rachel said she was hoping to face the TFL Fijiana 7s during the competition and was happy with the challenge from other Fijian girls during the tournament
