THE Fiji Golf Club will be hosting the Suva Golf Open Championship next month at Fiji Golf Club Course in Vatuwaqa, Suva.
Club professional golfer Veramu Rokotavaga said they were looking forward to the tournament.
“The captain and his committee decided to host the Suva Golf Open Championship sometimes next month.
“Golfers from all over the country would be invited for the competition.
“We have the biggest number of members in the club and we are coming to the end of the year soon when the season will close. We hope to fit in the tournament before it ends.”
Rokotavaga said they were anticipating a big number of golfers for the event.
“The tournament will be played for over two days and it is an annual event where the winners name goes on the board in different grades. We have 700 members and expecting a lot of golfers to compete,” he added.
“Neptune Shipping is combining with Golden Manufacturers to sponsor the event.
“The tournament was supposed to be played in October but due to the Fiji International we decided to shift it to December.
“We could not have the tournament earlier because we had other sponsored events.”
Meanwhile, the club sponsored Individual Stable ford event was played on Saturday.
