IN response to comments by the coaches of the Nauru and PNG 7s teams who are here to compete in the Oceania Rugby Sevens this weekend that their teams need more game time and as countries that are not fully into rugby as us I think we, as big brothers, need to lend them a hand.
With the amount of club teams playing in overseas tournaments and the abundance of talent we have, we could get the rest of the teams that are in the extended squad for our 7s team to play in these competitions, which will give them more game time, improve our local coaches and build up 7s for the rest of Oceania.
Better still get some of our clubs to represent the country in this competition, thus building up our local players and administrators.
Just a thought since we are always harping about the big brothers not giving us a fair shake.
We can start by leading and building up the Pacific Island teams to be strong in 7s and have a fair chance at winning a medal in the Olympics.
