Couple tie the knot in temple

IT could easily have been a scene from a movie when Vinita and Kritesh first saw each other.

That first look led to tying the knot on August 6 in a solemn and beautiful ceremony blessed by both families.

The way Vinita and Kritesh Nair met was indicative that the couple were destined to spend their lives together.

It was cold afternoon at the Kaliyaman Temple in Duvula Rd, Nadera. Hundreds of people had gathered for the annual firewalking ceremony. It was considered to be a very holy occasion.

It was indeed amazing how they managed to find each other in the crowd of hundreds.

“It was love at first sight,” said Vinita.

“I first saw him at the temple during an annual firewalking ceremony at the Kaliyaman Temple. At that time, I did not realise that he was noticing me and had been looking at me every year during the fire walking ceremonies since 2013.”

The admiration was mutual. And through friends the two managed to locate each other on the social media site Facebook.

“We became friends on Facebook and started chatting,” she said.

“He asked me out and we met one afternoon after work. Our first meeting was really quiet.

“And after a few meetings, we realised what was happening. We formally started our relationship on June 18, last year. He then asked me out on a proper date. We went to the movies.

“Our first date was really special. I told my grandmother that I was going on a date and I was serious about this boy and he told his mum.

“Behind our lovely relationship is the blessing of our parents who understood us and what was happening.”

As if by destiny, Vinita and Kritesh knew where the relationship was headed and soon enough both realised they would eventually make promises to spend the rest of their lives together.

“With our parent’s blessings we decided to tie the knot. Our parents were really happy when we discussed the prospect of marriage,” said the couple.

“Our wedding was like having our dreams come true. It had everything in the mix. Our parents had blessed it and it was beautiful. Above all it was very romantic.”

For Vinita, Kritesh is all she needs to have a complete life.

“My husband is one in a million. He always stands by my side, during my bad times and good times. He is my man, my protector, my soul mate. I love being with him,” she said.

For Kritesh, Vinita is his guiding light.

“My wife is the most beautiful woman in the world. She is loving, caring and hardworking. She is religious and I love spending time with her. She is really funny and playful and brings out the best in me” he said.

“Our love for each other holds us together,” both said.

And it was only fitting that Vinita and Kritesh should get married where they first laid eyes on each other. On August 6, in a South Indian wedding ceremony, the couple promised each other that they would love each other for the rest of their lives.
