Second-hand clothing

Second-hand clothing

While we appreciate the Consumer Council of Fiji’s efforts (FT 9/6) to address second-hand clothing quality, lack of fitting rooms and unhygienic shops, it would be great if the council could communicate with relevant authorities to control the prices of second-hand clothing.

The reason being, you walk into any second-hand clothing outlet in Suva or Nausori and you will notice that it is cheaper to buy brand new clothes.

This totally defeats their purpose which is to provide a bit of financial relief for the public.

On the hygiene note, they should not be allowed to sell used undergarments because it is completely gross. Anyway, thanking the council for pushing for a reduction in tariff on essential food and non-food items in their budget submission. Let us hope for a positive national budget.
