Convention gives universal recognition

Update: 1:09PM THE uniqueness of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)is because it is a cross-disability and cross-sectoral and is legally binding.

United Nations Human Rights officer Satya Jennings highlighted this during her submission to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence on whether Fiji should ratify the convention.

Ms Jennings said the convention gives universal recognition to the dignity of persons with disabilities.
