Thank you Gabriel Simpson for your letter, regarding the conversion of 20ft or 40ft containers into a long and lasting dwelling (FT 29/3).
The same thought was on my mind, after the online search for the hire of a container for freight purposes took me to a clip on YouTube, where this guy built a very cheap and beautiful home using a couple of old containers.
But the news that Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston threw a container a couple of metres from where it was, claiming the life of a man who sought refuge in it, kind of changed my mind.
As suggested, a good concrete foundation would really make it a safe container house when another hurricane or cyclone hits our nation.
