AN Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company is planning to expand its reach around the country and at the same time creating more job opportunities.
Datec Fiji Ltd’s success in the market can be attributed to sound business practices over many years and a strong affiliation with some of the strongest technology providers in the world.
Datec was acquired by Vodafone in June this year and the acquisition was very strategic, especially in terms of building capacity to provide end-to-end ICT solutions to businesses.
Vodafone Fiji Ltd chief commercial officer and Datec Fiji acting CEO Ronald Prasad said the ICT industry was rapidly changing and today there was more reliance on ICT partners to provide a one-stop-shop solution.
Along with providing networking and communication solutions, Mr Prasad said the ICT companies were now being approached to provide an array of business solutions.
“Many times these solutions expand just beyond the scope of what one company can typically offer, hence the need to innovate, acquire and form partnerships to deliver such solutions,” he said at the Datec Christmas Cocktail event in Suva on Wednesday night.
Datec specialises in the delivery of ICT solutions to businesses within Fiji and around the Pacific.
From its humble beginnings in 1985, Datec today has become the largest technology provider in the country.
