Boost for Pinktober awareness

FOR the first time, Janty Kanvan Ltd has decided to come on board and assist the Fiji Cancer Society with its Pinktober awareness program.

To address breast cancer, the company renowned for its stationery and paper business, will give 10c to the Fiji Cancer Society for every rim of XPress A4 paper they sold.

Operations manager Jigar Khatri said they aimed to raise about $35,000, adding the awareness program was a combined initiative by Janty Kanvan Ltd in collaboration with CJ Patel & Co Ltd.

He said breast cancer was a continuing problem and they realised that more was needed to be done to address the issue, which was also one of the reasons they decided to join FCS with its month-long campaign.

“Over the years, Fiji has seen an increase in number of cases of breast cancer and we should not only advocate but also to acknowledge the tireless efforts of Fiji Cancer Society in actively playing a crucial role as being a mediatory body in assisting breast cancer patients and spreading much needed awareness,” Mr Khatri said.
