Orobulu and Valevou fire Rewa past 10-man Navua in BOG clash

A precise 38th minute header by John Orobulu and a late goal by Epeli Valevou was enough to sail Lincoln Rewa to a 2-0 victory over River Tubing Fiji / Classic Travel Tours and Rentals Navua in the third match of day one of the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants.

Orobulu was at the right place at a crucial time, timing a pinpoint cross by Ivan Kumar to head home the lone goal of the match.

Navua, under the leadership of new coach Babs Khan fought well and almost levelled the scores through Usaia Tilivarua who attempted to finish off a cross inside the box.

However, Rewa goalkeeper James Do’oro read the play well to deny Navua the chance to equalize.

Navua’s hope of a comeback was dented when Vinal Prasad was shown the marching orders for dangerous play.

Rewa then rubbed salt on the wound of Navua when replacement player Valevou put the icing on the cake for the Delta Tigers.

Gabiriele Matanisiga was named the Extra Player of the Match

Rewa will be hoping to maintain their winning run when they face Nadi tomorrow in their second group at 1pm.

Navua will be hungry for their first win when they meet Suva at 11am at Subrail Park in Labasa.
