83 compete at memorial golf event

A TOTAL of 83 golfers, including two juniors teed off at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa on Saturday for the Tumana Memorial Trophy, with Jone Hui producing the best score of the tournament to win the C grade title.

Hui carded an impressive 40 points to claim first place in the division, finishing ahead of George Nacewa who secured second place on a countback with 38 points, while Niumaia Tabunakawai settled for third with 38 points.

In the A grade competition, Gregory Brown topped the field with 38 points.

Opetaia Ravai claimed second place on a countback with 37 points, edging out Danniel Abdulah who finished third with 37 points.

The B grade title went to Tom Managreve with 38 points, while Frank Chan finished second with 36 points.

Wilson Malani rounded out the top three with 35 points.

In the lady’s division, Natalie Evans took top honors with 38 points, followed by Kamini Singh in second place with 34 points.

Zhane Ning finished third with 32 points.

Nearest to the pin winners were Watisoni Leqeti on the second hole, Alex Konrote on the fifth, Dupito Sumamora on the twelfth, and William Parkinson on the sixteenth.
