$8000 up for grabs at Yaro 7s

THE Yaro Chiefs Rugby 7s Tournament is set for November 13–14 at Churchill, Lautoka, with $8,000 at stake for the main cup winner.

Tournament coordinator James Vunituraga said the Yaro Chiefs 7s is about giving teams a platform to compete at a high level and create opportunities for young and upcoming players.

Some top local 7s teams have confirmed their place which includes Wardens, Devo.

The two-day event will feature Men’s, Women’s, and Under-21 categories, attracting both local and overseas teams on a first-come, first-served basis.

Men’s champions will take home $8,000 while the runners-up walk away with $3,000. The Women’s and Under-21 grades will see winners claim $2,000 and runners-up $1,000 each.

Team registration fees are $700 for men’s teams and $300 for both women’s and U21 teams, with the deadline set for October 24.
