The Cath Lab at Lautoka Hospital has performed 796 coronary angiograms since commencing the service in May 2025, providing hundreds of Fijians with access to advanced cardiac diagnostic care closer to home.

In a statement, Aspen Medical said a coronary angiogram is the gold-standard imaging procedure used to diagnose coronary artery disease by giving cardiologists a detailed view of the heart’s blood vessels.

The procedure enables doctors to detect blockages, assess heart health and determine the most appropriate treatment at an early stage.

Aspen Medical said the service has allowed many patients to receive accurate and timely diagnoses without the need to travel overseas.

The healthcare provider said every early diagnosis creates an opportunity for earlier treatment, improved health outcomes and greater peace of mind for patients and their families.

Aspen Medical said expanding access to world-class cardiac diagnostic services at Lautoka Hospital is helping transform heart care across Fiji, one patient at a time.
