The Fiji Senior Golfers tournament, sponsored by Asco Motors, took place at the Natadola Golf Course in Nadi over the weekend.
According to Fiji Golf Club Secretary Susan Yee, a total of 70 players participated in the two-person Ambrose event, which attracted players from the West, Pacific Harbour, Australia, and the Fiji Golf Club for a day of golfing enjoyment.
“It was particularly encouraging to see 20 female participants, including notable players such as Susan Joyce, Barbara O’Neil, and Heather Atu from Nadi, along with Tema Buadromo from Australia, and Fiji Golf Club members like Barbara Nasara, Mua Rawlinson, and Caroline Chang,” said Yee.
“Prizes were distributed to the top six finishers, as well as for Nearest-to-the-Pin on all Par 3s and Longest Drives for both male and female players, thanks to the sponsorship from Asco Motors Limited.
“Additionally, two lucky draw vouchers were presented, and a delightful lunch was provided by the Natadola team.
The winners of the tournament were celebrated as follows: In 6th place were Indar Wajan and Joeli with 67.5 points, followed by Asim Hussein and Thiphait Hussein in 5th with 67 points.
Kamal Singh and Naveen Chand in 4th with 66.5 points, Jack Lee and Rookie in 3rd with 66 points, Linda Callaghan and Vidhya Lakhan in 2nd with 65.75 points.
And the champions were Carol Wright and Susan Joyce, clinching 1st place with 64 points.
