SIXTY students were officially inducted as school leaders at Drasa Primary School in Lautoka on Wednesday.

Headboy Rishav Prasad said the role was more than a title.

“As I take on this role, I am reminded of a quote that inspires me — a leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. I will do my best to live by these words every day,” he said.

The Year 8 student said he hoped to set a good example for younger students.

“I promise to carry out my duties with honesty, discipline, and dedication. I will also support our teachers and help make our school a place where everyone feels motivated, safe and proud to belong.”

Headgirl Raaisha Chand said leadership was an act of service.

“Let us support our teachers, guide our juniors, and uphold the values of our school.

“We must lead not only by words, but by our actions.”

Both student leaders encouraged teamwork and commitment among their peers.
