Forty-seven tenants at the Public Rental Board Narere have been given offer letters to purchase their own lots at highly subsidized and affordable prices.
Minister for Housing and Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa said the event marks a significant milestone in our journey towards inclusive and dignified homeownership for every Fijian.
He added this was a move “from uncertainty to stability, from tenancy to home ownership.”
“This initiative is part of the Government’s broader commitment to our national housing policy that prioritizes low-income families and vulnerable communities,” he said.
“Through careful planning and partnership, we are able to offer these lots at prices significantly below market value.”
“Through this offer, these families can secure better financing through the Housing Authority of Fiji or other financial provider of your choice, to improve your homes.”
“These financial providers and the overall process include affordable payment terms, clear land titles, and structured support to assist households as they transition into formal homeownership.”
