The 449 students who graduated from the University of Fiji last week were reminded to show ethical conduct and behaviour all the time.
University of Fiji vice-chancellor Dr Shaista Shameem said these were the values of the university that everyone had to adhere to.
“No matter how accomplished you are in your studies, and no matter how well your final results turn out to be, if you do not exhibit ethical conduct and behaviour in all that you do as you progress through life your qualifications will count for nothing at all,” she said.
“Apart from giving you all, our wonderful graduates a brilliant education the University of Fiji has also taught you what human values mean.
“Simple courtesy and good manners go a long way to earning the respect of the communities in which we live.
“Cause no harm to others, especially to animals and those who are disadvantaged and vulnerable in society. That means do not exploit anyone.
“Never harass anyone, especially sexual harassment. Never turn a blind eye to sexual harassment.”
