The 43rd Annual Fiji Seniors’ Golf Open is set to begin tomorrow at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva, bringing together senior golfers aged 55 and over for three days of exciting competition.

Sponsored by SWIRE SHIPPING and V. PRASAD HOLDINGS CO. LTD, the event will feature 60 confirmed participants, with more expected to register on the day.

Registration opens at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12 noon, followed by a cocktail gathering after play.

The men’s division will see former champions PC Goundar, Robert Li, Alipate Voicaicake, and last year’s winner Opetaia Ravai all aiming to reclaim the title. In the ladies’ division, past winners Agnes Fong Toy and Susan Yee will return, with Marica Margetts also in the mix. Notably, last year’s champion Sharon Smith will not compete.

In the over-70 category, Thiphait Hussein, a regular titleholder, will once again try to secure the prestigious Jack Akbay Trophy.

Newly eligible players to watch include Tom Managreve, Paul Bennion, Richard Kwon, and Eric Nand, who are expected to provide fresh competition.

Wednesday will feature a time draw, with Thursday’s play moving to a seeded draw after two days of results. The event will conclude with a prize-giving dinner at Central Cuisine Restaurant on Friday.
