FIJI Ports Terminal Limited is starting the New Year strong as they expect to welcome a total of 43 ships this month.
The vessels are expected to call into Suva port.
With 25 scheduled visits for the month, container ships are expected to be the most regular visitors.
Five cruise ships, the Discovery Princess, Costa Deliziosa, Riviera, Noordam and Zaandam are anticipated to bring in tourists and revenue to the Capital City.
Other ships scheduled to visit include one cable ship, one cargo ship, one clinker, three tankers and two research vessels.
Vessels to arrive this week include the car carrier Lake Travis, research vessel the MV Anuanua Moana, cruise ship Discovery Princess, container ships Neptune Matua, Southern Pearl, Medkon Ten, Kota Hapas, Majuro Chief and tanker Hafnia Merlin.
The Chinese ship, Yuan Wang 5 was at port on Monday while the Yuan Wang 6 is expected to arrive this Friday, January 9. The two ships are categorised as research/survey vessels.
