$33k for apparel and commemorative plaques

IT was an occasion of bright smiles and warm handshakes yesterday when officials of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s announced its partnership with Official Apparel Fiji at the head office of Paradise Beverages Fiji Ltd in Walu Bay, Suva.

The event marked the company’s provision of official wear for the TISA Legends, event directors and sponsors of the tournament.

The managing director of Star Hospitality Company (Pte) Ltd, Anand Kumar, remarked how the company’s total investment of $33,000 into the apparel and commemorative plaques to recognise contributions and achievements within the tournament.

He also highlighted how the company was a firm supporter of rugby development at the grassroots level, of which the Marist 7s places a close focus on.

“We have also been actively supporting grassroots rugby by sponsoring a number of village teams; one such sweet example is the Mana Academy team where young players are being developed for a brighter future with opportunities to progress to further play-offs in Brisbane,” he mentioned.

“We are equally proud to support Kaji rugby which plays a vital role in nurturing young talent at the foundational level of the sport.”

Marist Rugby Club president Lawrence Tikaram welcomed the opportunity to have Official Apparel Fiji on board as the tournament gears up to be the biggest grassroots rugby spectacle of the year.

Kumar also reflected on how their backing of the tournament was a step towards aligning itself with the spirit of rugby and the unifying effect it carried.

“This is more than just an apparel partnership; it’s about aligning with the passion, energy and spirit of rugby that brings our communities together.

“At Star Hospitality, we are committed to delivering premium quality and not only represent the tournament, but also connect with fans and players on a deeper level.”

The Marist 7s starts tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and will end on Saturday.
