Update: 3:48PM A PREPARATION budget of $3.9 million has been estimated by FASANOC for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Team Fiji Chef de Mission, Cathy Wong said this would cover the preparation costs for each of the potential qualifying sports such as weightlifting, athletics, women’s sevens rugby, swimming, shooting and archery.
Wong commended FASANOC on tabulating the report to Government and will await the response during the announcement of the 2016 Budget next month.
No indication has been made yet by the government as to how much it would allocate to prepare for the Olympics in Brazil.
