The Ministry of Education has reported a decrease in cheating and malpractice cases during Year 12 external examinations over the past three years.
The data was revealed in Parliament by the Minister for Education in response to a question, from opposition MP Hem Chand.
The figures show that while there were 20 alleged cases in 2022, this number dropped to just 3 cases in 2023, before a slight increase to 6 cases in 2024.
In total, 29 cases were recorded across the three-year period, all confined to the Year 12 level.
In the official response, the Ministry confirmed that all reported cases were thoroughly investigated and have since been resolved.
To maintain this progress, the Ministry has pledged to continue its collaborative efforts with school leaders, supervisors, students, parents, and law enforcement agencies.
