FOOD Processors Fiji (Pte) Ltd was awarded the Excellence in Agribusiness Innovation Award at the 2025 Prime Minister’s International Business Awards.

The accolade is recognition and reward for excellence and leadership among agribusinesses that demonstrate a future-oriented vision for the agri-food sector and its supporting services in Fiji.

Reflecting on the milestone achievement, CEO Raneel Mudaliar commended the sacrifice and hard work of the company’s management and staff as key components of their success.

“Personally, this award feels deeply rewarding—it reinforces why we at Food Processors (Fiji) Pte Ltd are passionate about serving our farmers and communities,” he said.

“Professionally, it’s a powerful affirmation that the direction we’ve taken as a company is the right one.

“It reflects the years of hard work, tough decisions, and strategic investments we’ve made to modernise Fiji’s agribusiness sector and turn local crops into high-value products that represent our nation proudly.

It also marks a proud moment as we now stand as an award-winning company, recognised at the highest level for innovation in agribusiness.”

Mr Mudaliar said the award perfectly mirrored Food Processors’ identity as a company.

“It validates our commitment to uplifting local farmers, championing Fijian crops, and producing safe, high-quality foods that benefit both local consumers and international markets.

“It reinforces our core values—innovation, sustainability, integrity, and teamwork—and shows that our mission to build resilient, value-added supply chains is not only working but making a meaningful national impact.”

He said the recognition solidified their position as a uniquely homegrown processor that goes beyond traditional agribusiness.

“We are the only company in Fiji that takes local crops—dalo, cassava, taro leaves, duruka, breadfruit—and transforms them into canned, export-ready, premium products.

“The award highlights our leadership in bridging local agriculture with modern technology and sets us apart as a company that truly understands Fiji’s agricultural challenges and delivers solutions tailored to our farmers and our markets.”

Mr Mudaliar added the award would serve as a powerful catalyst for the next phase of their business growth.

“It boosts our credibility when approaching external partners, investors, and international buyers, and strengthens our confidence as we push forward with new innovations.

“We’ll use this recognition to support further product diversification, expand our farmer base, and continue investing in technology—from advanced packaging to improved cold-chain systems.

“It gives us momentum to think bigger and aim higher.”

Mr Mudaliar said their next steps would involve scaling up their processing operations, “deepening our engagement with farmers—especially in regions like the Northern Division—and enhancing our facilities and certifications”

“We’re preparing to introduce new product lines, expand our export footprint across the Pacific and beyond, and continue reinforcing our sustainability commitments.

“This award marks the beginning of a new chapter of growth, not the end of one.”

He said this award would not have been possible without their dedicated staff, “the backbone of winning this prestigious award”.

“We plan to celebrate in a way that acknowledges every member of our FPFL family.

“Our team—production staff, quality controllers, procurement officers, drivers, admin, and management – all played essential roles in making us an award-winning company.

“Their willingness to innovate, adapt, and maintain high standards every day is the reason we reached this milestone.

“We’ll be celebrating with them, appreciating their efforts, and reinforcing the message that this award belongs to all of us.

“Their contribution wasn’t just important—it was the heart of the achievement.”
